Impact Details
Programs, events, and donations
Three programs, one goal: hands-on help for seniors, learning for kids, and devices in the hands of people who need them.
Work With Seniors
Our Work With Seniors
We teach practical tech skills that help seniors feel more confident and connected. Our sessions focus on patience, safety, and real-life tasks like calling family, managing settings, and staying in touch.
Monthly Tech Support
We visit 5 Star Premier Residences monthly to provide personalized technology assistance for senior residents. Our volunteers help seniors with their devices, teaching them essential digital skills and answering questions in a patient, supportive environment.
Digital Safety Workshops
We conducted digital safety workshops at the Palace at Weston, teaching seniors how to recognize scams, avoid phishing attempts, and protect their personal information online. Our interactive sessions empowered seniors to navigate the digital world safely.
Personalized Tech Assistance
We provide one-on-one tech support for senior residents at Palomino Gardens. Our volunteers assist with phones, iPads, and laptops, helping with everything from setting up email and video calls to organizing photos and adjusting accessibility settings.
Work With Kids
Our Work With Kids
We run hands-on workshops that spark curiosity and teamwork through games and creative projects. Our team also collaborates with the American Heritage Game Dev Club to design and lead engaging learning experiences.
Friendly Feud Trivia Nights
We raised $5.6k with a student-led trivia night that brought the community together. Over 200 students participated, forming teams and competing in rounds while enjoying an evening of fun and learning together.
Game Development Workshops
Hands-on sessions introducing game design principles and beginner-friendly tools for over 100 participants. Co-led with the American Heritage Game Dev Club to showcase student projects and mentor peers.
Bake Sales
Students planned, baked, and ran the table to support our programs for kids and seniors. These pop-up sales build teamwork and show how small efforts add up.
Broward Health Center Visit
In partnership with the Game Dev Club, we visited Broward Health Center to play board games with pediatric patients. Our volunteers spent time with kids and their families, creating moments of joy and connection through interactive games that brought smiles and laughter to the facility.
Mamma's Curry Christmas Celebration
Partnering with Mamma's Curry for a special Christmas celebration, we spent time with kids playing board games and spreading holiday cheer. Our volunteers brought festive joy through interactive games and activities, making the holiday season memorable with laughter, connection, and the spirit of giving.
His House Children's Home iPad Donation
We donated 15+ iPads to His House Children's Home, empowering children with essential technology skills. Our volunteers guided them through iPad setup and usage, taught basic financial literacy concepts, and introduced advanced topics like AI and Machine Learning to prepare them for the digital future.
Donations
Our Donation Drives
We organize drives and events that put useful items directly into the hands of kids and seniors. Each effort is planned with community partners so donations match real needs.
Christmas Event: Ongoing Haiti Initiative
This Christmas, Bytes for Better Lives donated board games to a rural school in Haiti, spreading holiday joy while providing children with games they can enjoy together and use to practice learning English through play. We are grateful to House of New Vision and Hope for making this Christmas celebration possible and look forward to continuing to spread connection through board games!
Nicklaus Children's Hospital
We donated board games to Nicklaus Children's Hospital. These games provide young patients with engaging activities that bring comfort, joy, and distraction during their hospital stays and recovery.
His House Children's Home
We donated board games to His House Children's Home. These games provide children with screen-free activities that encourage social connection, creativity, and meaningful interactions during their time at the facility.
Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital
We organized board game drives and donated games to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. These games provide children with engaging activities that bring comfort, distraction, and a sense of normalcy during their hospital stays.
Mamma's Curry Closet
We donated board games to Mamma's Curry Closet in our local community. These games provide children and families with engaging activities that bring joy and create meaningful moments together in their community space.
Haiti Support Initiative
We donated games to the non-profit House of New Vision and Hope, which supports disadvantaged children in rural Haiti. We provided chess, checkers, and card games that don't require English proficiency, making them accessible and enjoyable for all children.
